My internship consisted of collecting technical assistance programs and compiling the data for three major cities to be input in the Greening Sports Directory which is a resource for sports facility mangers to locate sustainable technology for their facilities. This intrigued me to look into why the sports entertainment world still hasn’t implemented sustainable technologies that have been around for decades. The diffusion of innovations theory is a complex interdisciplinary concept that can expand sustainable practices to the general public. I found that the diffusion of green innovations can be accelerated if communicated properly and increase pollution prevention.
