UW Leaders is an ASUW program that offers leadership-building opportunities for freshmen, sophomores, and transfer juniors. Whether students have been involved in past leadership or want to start now, UW Leaders maximizes their leadership potential and welcomes them into a close-knit meaningful community of accomplished individuals.

The Design Help Desk is a tutoring service offered by the Division of Design in the UW School of Art. The Design Help Desk offers free advice to both undergraduate and graduate students seeking to improve their visuals for presentation and publication. 

Nourish International is a non-profit organization that serves as a platform for students to make long-lasting, global impacts within developing regions around the world. Nourish creates partnerships between university chapters and communities abroad in an effort to foster strong relationships, implement sustainable development, and eradicate poverty. 

AGI/Schlumberger Fellowship in Geoscience Communication – deadline October 26
 The American Geosciences Institute (AGI) is accepting applications for the AGI/Schlumberger Fellowship in Geoscience Communication. The fellow will play a central role in AGI’s Critical Issues program, a new initiative to make relevant geoscience information more accessible to decision makers at all levels.The fellow will develop geoscience-based content for the Critical Issues website. 

Kimberly-Clark is a leading global health and hygiene company with about 55,000 full-and part-time employees worldwide. In addition to our well-known personal care products like Kleenex, Scott, and Huggies, we provide healthcare items such as surgical gowns, gloves, masks, and medical devices.  

We have some pretty amazing students in this major. Two of them have recently been in the news!

Angela Feng is a senior major in Environmental Studies and an active leader in both the SAGE club and the UW Earth Club. 

Check out this fantastic lecture series next week on Friday, October 3. Public lecture from 3:30-5:30 on “Climate Change and Hierarchies of Responsibility” with an additional workshop including presentations from (among others) PoE teachers Ned Schaumberg and Lauren Hartzell!
