Unique and Exciting Opportunity to Serve as Peer Instructor with Program on the Environment and UW International Educational Outreach
Eight upper-level undergraduate students from diverse programs are sought to assist as Peer Instructors with students from Japan (Keio University) from August 1st-21st.

Plastics in the Ocean – with Giora Proskurowski (UW Oceanography)
On April 24, discover the impact of plastics on the world’s oceans with Giora Proskurowski from UW Oceanography.
While working on a research sailboat in the Pacific Ocean, UW Oceanography Research Scientist Giora Proskurowski observed water littered with confetti-size pieces of plastic debris, then the wind picked up and the particles disappeared.
A Humble Feast is a student-run “pop-up” restaurant in the Husky Den kitchen intended as an experimental laboratory for cooking whole-food affordable meals on a student budget as well as for farm-to-school food sourcing.

The Earth Day speaker program will open with Julia Parrish, Associate Dean of College of the Environment at 12:00 PM, followed by Anne Mosness from the Go Wild Campaign and then James Rasmussen from the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition.
