Alumna Anna Mines co-founds responsible tourism business to support Southern Italian communities
Anna Mines graduated in December 2014, with a double major in Environmental Studies and ethnomusicology.
Persuaded by a friend to visit and stay in Italy for a while after graduation, Anna left Seattle on a six-week backpacking trip, which included a WWOOF stint in the southern Italian town of Maratea.
Environmental Studies awarded 20K for student tech fees
Each quarter, matriculated students of the University of Washington pay a Student Technology Fee (STF), which amounts to almost $5 million a year. The STF pays for additional technological needs of students, both in and out of their regular classes.

Congratulations to Environmental Studies student Caitlin Carthey, who was recently awarded scholarship funding for the 2016-2017 academic year from the College of the Environment!
This year the CoEnv Scholarship and Funding Committee awarded over $48,000 in merit- and need-based scholarship funds to 24 undergraduates.
